Principal's Message

Hello, Sabercats!

In the time I've spent getting to know this community, I am genuinely struck by how much it feels like a family-- one filled with amazing people who care deeply for one another and invest in each other's success. Relationships are at the heart of what makes CVHS such an incredible place to work and learn, and I feel blessed to be a part of it.

Further, I have learned that the CVHS staff is talented, professional, and passionate about creating an extraordinary high school experience that meets our students' boundless potential-- a community where each of them finds places to belong and explore and achieve and chase their dreams. I am humbled by their commitment to our kids, and I recognize just how lucky I am to learn and lead alongside them.

Just to give you a sense of who I am, I come to Castle View with a wide range of experience. I have served as a middle school principal on the western slope and Jeffco, a district instructional leader in Mesa County and Aurora, and a high school English, Show Choir, and Service Learning teacher / Cross Country, Track and Speech & Debate coach. My first career was in musical theatre, and I still sometimes get the chance to sing with the Grand Junction Rockestra (a symphony orchestra that plays rock music). All of that said, my most important roles are wife to my wonderful husband (who is also a high school administrator); mom to two incredible kids, (who are both sophomores in high school), and dog-mom to a very energetic goldendoodle.

Please know that I mean it when I say my door is always open. I can't wait to get to know you and hear what you hope for our kids and our community. We have such rich traditions at CVHS that we can build upon, and we know that to be the best school we can be, we have to partner with and listen deeply to you. I so look forward to lots of opportunities to do that.

In closing, thank you for sharing your kids with us; it is our honor to serve them.

Jeena Templeton, Ed.D.

Principal, Castle View High School
